Artist's collection.

A spent cocoon falling away across an organic grid of effervescent nuclei serves as a symbol of pure origins. Having nurtured life now flown it cascades towards the lower corner, where a slim border suggests the prow of a longboat, symbol of rites of passage.

This work and another, Evolution, gave the name to my solo exhibition Emergence & Evolution at the Sturt Gallery, Mittagong (NSW) in 2002.
