Imagine telling a story with a mud map arrangement of stones, sticks and anecdote.
Stones become stand-ins for people
            — elements of the story.
Scatters of stones tell of populations
            — groups of people.
Circles suggest a meeting
           — discussion.
Sticks and stones can tell a story of society.

Sticks and stones,
Broken bones,
Names and lies still hurt you.
